Big Lift Ferry Poem F372

First ferry ride in
Many months took the scenic
Route around the back –
Of a big container ship –
Leaving the harbour slowly

Notes to this poem…

First ferry ride since December 1st, 2016! Bridge still closed at night and I finally had a reason to go over to Dartmouth in the evening today. 🙂

I’m sure we could have gotten in front of that container ship and out ran it on our way to Halifax rather than wait for it to get closer, then get in behind it to follow it the rest of our route. But I appreciate the ferry captain played it safe… and fun with a couple of donuts on the water! 🙂

The F-series poems are part of a collection composed on my ferry rides across Halifax Harbour when the buses aren’t crossing the MacDonald bridge due to the Big Lift bridge redecking. This should keep happening until at least December 2016.
