Notes to this poem…
Seagulls were circling the ferry on this trip. They were having fun, I’m sure but they were also looking lost. That’s when I connected the idea of birds navigating the stars with the Dipper constellations on a tuque I was wearing.
The F-series poems are part of a collection composed on my ferry rides across Halifax Harbour when the buses aren’t crossing the MacDonald bridge due to the Big Lift bridge redecking. This should keep happening until at least December 2016.
