Notes to this poem…
A wish I had for my career that was being stifled by those above me. I wasn’t looking for an easy way up, or fast track, and was willing to start lower some place else where there was just a ladder I could climb. I was willing to to do that. However, I’m happy to say that has all changed for the better! I’m now in a place higher than that, with potential to go even higher so long as I work hard for it, which is absolutely my intention!
The T-series poems are tanka composed while I was not engaged in some activity during which I frequently composed poetry. That is why these are called the Inactive Tanka collection.
