Haiku H224

An ocean of clouds –
Above a calm sea of clouds –
Notes for cloud atlas

Notes to this poem…

These were clouds as seen from flight that meant I was looking down on them. They looked like a slightly turbulent ocean on top, but every once in a while, that layer was thin enough to see through. A less visually interesting, but calmer looking, layer of clouds laid underneath. The geographical metaphors I used to described these layers of clouds brought to me the name of a book and movie about which I had once heard, but had never seen, called the Cloud Atlas, which I thought was a visually beautiful concept.

Looked like a good movie I should go watch! I’m just terrible about watching movies being as active as I am with many interests.

The H-series poems comprise of haiku composed while I was not engaged in some activity during which I frequently composed poetry. That is why these are called the Inactive Haiku collection.
