Haiku H233

When people look through you as
If you were a ghost –
Come back to haunt them!

Notes to this poem…

In my old job, I had been overlooked, or worse, kept in place, for others’ selfish gains. During this vacation ending on this day, I was coming back to a new job that was higher ranked, more challenging, and doing things some in my old work place thought I was incapable of, never mind at a higher level. Well, that question finally got settled rather resoundingly! However, I wasn’t going to say anything. I didn’t have to. I think being around for two weeks to wrap up things nicely for the next person and crossing paths with some of these people multiple times a day with polite greetings under a little smile was going to make the point sufficiently for my liking. 🙂

The H-series poems comprise of haiku composed while I was not engaged in some activity during which I frequently composed poetry. That is why these are called the Inactive Haiku collection.
