Must find new circles
To be within rather than
To circle around

Notes to this poem…

My many interests leave me on the fringe of many circles of friends who are more dedicated to whatever they have in common, and develop deeper friendships from it. It’s a natural thing from human relationships but, at this point, I’d almost rather break free of these social circles rather than be on the fringes of it where I am regularly reminded, even if unintentionally most of the time

It would also mean I’d be getting involved in new activities to be among new social circles, because my social circles are based around common activities. Getting involved in new things is about as natural as anything gets for me.

A multi-purpose solution… my kind of answer! 🙂

The W-series poems comprise mostly of haiku or tanka composed during walks I took on the portion of Halifax’s waterfront known as the Harbourwalk, in 2018, when the Seabridge was in place.
