Harbourwalk Poem W045

A bench stop for each poem
I composed this year
On the Harbourwalk

Copyright by Minh Tan on listed dated of completion.

Notes to this poem…

For every one of these Harbourwalk poems, I stop on a bench along that Harbourwalk to type its completion. So as this collection grows, think about how many stops I made on a walk that I could easily just walk through entirely without any rest.

I occasionally type parts of a poem while walking when I have a lot of ideas floating around and don’t want to lose them all. However, I stop to finish them because I want to reflect a bit about each sitting down, looking out to the ocean in the harbour.

The W-series poems comprise mostly of haiku or tanka composed during walks I took on the portion of Halifax’s waterfront known as the Harbourwalk, in 2018, when the Seabridge was in place.
