Notes to this poem…
I overheard an old couple on the bench next to me make this judgment on me. Then their smart phone blinged loudly. Must have been a text cause they responded in conversation, with many more blings each time a response came in. Finally, they called and it was over getting groceries.
I guess their hearing wasn’t very good given their small talk, blings and phone conversation were easily overheard by me on the bench next to them with a bench space in between!
I hate hypocrites!
The W-series poems comprise mostly of haiku or tanka composed during walks I took on the portion of Halifax’s waterfront known as the Harbourwalk, in 2018, when the Seabridge was in place.
