Spiky horizon –
From all the sailboats –
Sitting at Earth’s edge

Notes to this poem…

Without the ancient belief the Earth was flat, I’d never have been able to write this poem because I wouldn’t know of the Earth’s edge concept, and horizon doesn’t fit the syllabic requirements.

The W-series poems comprise mostly of haiku or tanka composed during walks I took on the portion of Halifax’s waterfront known as the Harbourwalk, in 2018, when the Seabridge was in place.
