Notes to this poem…
Sad true story with a person in my life. Basically, we’ll never be true friends because when I get my status, I won’t be looking to consolidate friendships with people in my past who were not a part of my life given the world that lay ahead for me… never mind what those old acquaintances may or may not have meant to me.
The W-series poems comprise mostly of haiku or tanka composed during walks I took on the portion of Halifax’s waterfront known as the Harbourwalk, during the warmer months of 2018 & 2019, when the Seabridge was in place.
