Harbourwalk Poem W079

Walks with music are –
Poetically –
Less fruitful than walks without

Notes to this poem…

Half of my mind is elsewhere, even with music without lyrics. While they will inspire some poems, I find my full wandering mind is more effective at producing poetry than when half of it is wandering and the other half is processing the music I’m listening to, no matter how little.

The W-series poems comprise mostly of haiku or tanka composed during walks I took on the portion of Halifax’s waterfront known as the Harbourwalk, in 2018, when the Seabridge was in place.
