Harbourwalk Poem W340

Three cents for a match –
Bumble dating donation –
Will take a LOT more –
To convince local women –
To swipe right on Asian men

Notes to this poem…

“Match” here is a dating app match of two people who say they “like” each other by swiping right on each other’s profile.

As incentive to swap right on more people, resulting in more matches on statistical probabilities alone, the Bumble dating app makers were going to donate 3 cents for every match made to charity. Nice idea with good intentions, albeit a bit on the cheap side for my tastes.

However, given how reluctant Nova Scotian women are to show interest in Asian men, as my personal life and social experiments online have shown over the years, it’ll take a hell of a lot more than 3 cents for Nova Scotian women to swipe right on Asian men like me! Hey, if they don’t give 2 cents about Asian men without regard for anything else about those men, what makes you think they’ll be interested if someone else gave 3 cents for it? lol

The W-series poems comprise mostly of haiku or tanka composed during walks I took on the portion of Halifax’s waterfront known as the Harbourwalk, during the warmer months of 2018 & 2019, when the Seabridge was in place.
