It amazes me –
In this day and age –
That people still pay for porn

Notes to this poem…
Whatever reasons they may have, I don’t know. I just know there is SO much of it online that is free, not that I had to go looking to be sure as one could never look enough to know. I rely on stats like Pornhub’s annual reports for what people search for, download, and such, and stats about the whole Tumblr turn around from being possibly the main porn repository, or at least main blogging repository, to get rid of porn on it. It is just astounding, the volume of free porn on just the big sites I read about, and they are still just a fraction of all the free porn online. Yet, people are still paying lots of money for it from stats I also read about!
Porn isn’t what it used to be from a few documentaries I’ve seen, due to digital piracy, as much as they try to block things, threat to sue, etc. for stealing content. The market with all the free stuff has meant a lot of porn stars have to take up escorting or other work to make ends meet financially. So there isn’t a lot of money like there used to be, but there still is a lot from people still paying for porn. Maybe their time to search and curate porn is worth the money they pay for it? Or some for personal contact to porn stars in a new(ish) extension of porn (camming, direct contact) that generic porn can’t give them?
I don’t know. You ask them. It just doesn’t really make a lot of sense economically.
The W-series poems comprise mostly of haiku or tanka composed during walks I took on the portion of Halifax’s waterfront known as the Harbourwalk, during the warmer months of 2018 & 2019, when the Seabridge was in place.
