I often wonder if –
I pushed myself more at home –
Or on vacation

Notes to this poem…

My initial and gut reaction is on vacation, where I have limited time and try to make the most of it. It is rather frustrating with some others who are slow, or maybe don’t care as much, but that only makes me push myself harder to get more out of the time on my own on vacation. I don’t have that pressure at home, where I really do have all the time in the world with an extremely independent and time efficient life, like a super short commute to and from work, and without pressures from friends or family nearby for socialization.

The W-series poems comprise mostly of haiku or tanka composed during walks I took on the portion of Halifax’s waterfront known as the Harbourwalk, during the warmer months of 2018 & 2019, when the Seabridge was in place.
