I don’t gamble with money –
I gamble with life –
Where stakes are highest

Notes to this poem…
Ask me about the weather,
Ask me what I think’s taboo,
Ask me if I would wear leather,
Or Who do I pray to?
Ask me any question, any day
Ask me cause you know I’ve always,
Got something to say!
Ask me how I’d solve global warming,
Ask me how I’d get world peace,
Ask me how I’d end world hunger,
Or inequality?
Ask me any question, any day,
Ask me cause you know I’ve always,
Got something to say!
But having an opinion, without discussion,
Thinking one is right, day and night,
Is a plan for, fights and war,
Hot heads, blood shed, lost heads and tears shed,
If we discuss our problems, I believe,
We can find the answers that would be,
Good for you and me!
So won’t you please tell me something,
What do you have to say?,
On any one of those things,
Or what strikes your fancy today?
Tell me your opinion, so that we,
Can mutually find the answers that would be,
Good for you and me…
And for humanity.

Notes to this poem…
Ask me about the weather,
Ask me how I do feng shui,
Ask me if I would wear leather,
Or to whom I pray?
Ask me any question, any day,
Ask me cause you know I’ve always,
Got something to say!
Ask me what I think of friendship,
Ask me how I feel about love,
Ask me my views on money,
Or on happiness?
Ask me any question, any day,
Ask me cause you know I’ve always,
Got something to say!
Ask me about blogging, clear cut logging,
Autobahns and black swans,
Michael Jordan, Bob Dylan,
Islam, Viet Nam, H-bombs and my Mom,
Yeah, ask me any question, any day,
Ask me cause you know I’ve always,
Got something to say!
Ask me where I stand on abortion,
Ask me if I’d help someone die,
Ask me my beliefs in cloning,
Or in alien life.
Ask me any question, any day,
Ask me cause you know I’ve always,
Got something to say!
Ask me how I’d solve global warming,
Ask me how I’d get world peace,
Ask me how I’d end world hunger,
Or inequality?
Ask me any question, any day,
Ask me cause you know I’ve always,
Got something to say!

I think I’d be broke
If each time that guy asked me this –
I had cared

Some people
Have so much luck they

The Encyclopedia Britannica
Has an entry for Vienna –
Followed by that for Virgule –
Being who I am –
I automatically noticed
They forgot one for Viet Nam

Notes to this poem…
A comet came to rest today –
Buried into the Earth
After having traveled a long way –
No one knew its place of birth –
Nor where it’s been on its journey –
Only that it now rests here
In a makeshift grave marked BARNEY –
A man whom only God held dear

Old World colonizers who
Sought to assimilate their victims
By washing the dirt from their victims’ skins –
They failed because they had no idea
The colours of their victims’ skin –
Came from within

Notes to this poem…
Political correctness
Should not change the word history
To the likes of herstory or ourstory –
That – would be a grave inaccuracy!
In those times back then –
Historians were –
For the most part –
Men

Notes to this poem…
A well-rounded personality
Is somewhat like a ball
In that one can never –
At any given time – see it all
In its entirety
In attempts to get it on paper –
As in a cover letter –
Or – perhaps – on a résumé –
Misrepresentations will occur –
Leading judgments of others astray

Notes to this poem…
Science teaches us to be curious –
To explore that which is not known –
I can’t help, then, but be curious
As to why – in as scientifically conscious
A world as that which we live in today –
So much hate and racism are still shown
By people assuming and fearing
Things of cultures to them unknown?

Notes to this poem…
True Genius is an incurable disease
With strains specific to individuals –
One only knows one has the ailment –
But one can do naught of its development
As for the rest of the world –
The ailment – few will be able understand –
Though often not until the Victim
Is beneath hundreds of thousands
Of hourglasses worth of sand
